Q: What do you know about Alenco Windows? I have over 25 of the Alenco, aluminum framed windows in my 11 year old house. I have replaced over 20 panes in these windows. I have tried to find a web site for Alenco, with no luck. Do you know if Alenco is still in business. Do you know anything about warranties from Alenco?

A: I found Alenco Windows at the following website: http://www.comwindow.com/. I have great luck with the Excite search engine, and often find sites that others have not been able to locate.

I recommend you contact Alenco Windows directly about their warranties. However, it is not uncommon for the seals in thermal paned windows to fail after a few years and need to be replaced. In the state of California, home builders are responsible for latent defects in construction for 10 years, but thermal paned windows are only covered for four years. I encourage you to look up the laws in your state in addition to checking out the warranties Alenco offers.
