Q: We have standing water on
about two acres of land. How do I drain the water without high
cost?
A: If I understand correctly that you have two acres that need to be drained, you need the services of an engineer and/or surveyor and an excavation contractor. You obviously have a low spot that needs to be raised or a high spot that needs to be lowered so the water can drain away. How quickly you want it to drain away will determine how the regrading will be done and how extensive it is. Remember, water doesn't flow up hill so you either need to raise the low spot with more dirt or lower the high spot or some combination of the two.
