Q: We removed quarry tile from our floor, but the adhesive remains. We want to install ceramic tile. Do we have to remove the Z brick cement? The concrete floor is sound. How do I remove Z brick cement from a concrete floor?

A: It is probably not necessary to remove the old glue if the surface is level and you apply the ceramic tile with a base of mortar under the thinset.

Can I take it to mean that you have managed to remove the Z-brick and just need to remove the adhesive before doing something else with the floor, or do you still need to remove the Z-brick too?

I need more information. You may not need to remove the adhesive to put some other kinds of flooring down.

Please give me more details about the current state of the floor and your intended finished results.
