Some ceiling fans can turn either
clockwise or counter-clockwise. In the summer, you want the air
to blow directly downward, to create a cooling effect. Reverse
the ceiling fan in the winter so it blows upward-this will help
move the warm air from the ceiling, down the edges of the walls
for more even comfort, without a draft.
Fan Repairs
It's important to let your service professional know if it's necessary to remove an existing light fixture. If he will be installing a fan in a new location, whether the fan has a light and how it will be controlled. These answers will help him determine what tools and equipment to bring and how much electrical work will be necessary to finish the task.
Letting your service professional know what quality fan you have will help him determine what it might cost to install; ie., the higher the quality level of the fan, the more time and effort it might take to install it.
