Recovering Furniture

Tips from Real-Estate-Agents.com

Q: I am worried about how to figure out how much yardage I will need to recover my furniture. I have oversized pieces, including a couch, loveseat, chair and ottoman. I have come up with approximately 52 yards combined but I am afraid that is overshooting. I would like to be as accurate as possible.

A: Are you having your furniture reupholstered professionally or buying the fabric and doing it yourself? Either way, the professionals who will do the work and/or sell you the fabric are in the best position to advise you. They can see the furniture as well as the material to consider a nap, a repeat in the pattern, and to determine how much yardage you will need.
