Recovering Furniture

Tips by Real-Estate-Agents.com

Q: I am wondering about how to figure out how much yardage I will need to recover my furniture. I have oversized pieces, including a couch, loveseat, chair and ottoman. I have come up with approximately 52 yards combined but I am afraid that is overshooting. I would like to be as accurate as possible.

A: Are you having your furniture reupholstered professionally or buying the fabric and doing it yourself? Either way, the professionals who will do the work or sell you the fabric are in the best position to advise you. They can see the furniture as well as the material to consider a nap, a repeat in the pattern, and to determine how much yardage you will need.
