Q: We are going to build a deck.
I saw a deck that was built from synthetic lumber. I was told
they purchased the material from Home Depot. I would appreciate
any information you can provide.A: There are many "composite" decking materials on the market these days, made from wood and resins or plastics, including Trex, E-Z Deck, E-Wood, ChoiceDek, Rhino Deck, EverNew from CertainTeed, Weatherbest, and Nexwood. I'm sure there are other brands, as well. You can find descriptions of all these on the web by typing the brand names and "composite deck" into a good search engine (I have good luck on http://www.excite.com).
I recommend you have about three different contractors who install composite decking come to your home, explain the pros and cons of their products and give you detailed written bids. This is usually the best way to determine the best product, a fair price range and which professional you prefer to hire.
To find some reputable decking contractors, please visit Service Magic, type "Install A Deck" into the search engine, fill out a service request and let us match you with the ideal service professional in your area.
Good luck!
