Q: I cannot seem to get good ground
cover under my deck. The sod is always damp and grass does not
do well. I tried seeding with shade seed, etc. A concrete slab
would be my last choice.A: I recommend you visit a local nursery and they should be able to recommend some good ground cover with the best chance of surviving before throwing in the towel and installing gravel or concrete.
You might also contact some local landscaping contractors to discuss the possibility of having a professional first improve the area with soil enhancement and/or drainage and then plant the most appropriate ground cover for you. That might help give it a better chance of thriving and still be much less expensive than concrete.
